The search
The listed market and, above all, the one that isn't: a third of our sales close before anything goes online.
-
03
The viewings
We go aboard before you, then with you. You only see the boats worth the journey.
-
04
The offer
Negotiation, a standard MYBA memorandum of agreement, a 10 % deposit held in escrow: the framework that protects buyer and seller alike.
-
05
The sea trial and survey
A day out with the captain, then an independent survey of hull and engines, before any final commitment.
-
06
Flag and crew
Choosing the flag with your advisers, registration, insurance, and recruiting a captain you can trust.

The cost of a yacht
What a yacht costs each year
An industry rule of thumb: around 10 % of its value every year. Slide to see the order of magnitude.

An order of magnitude for a recent motor yacht cruising the Mediterranean in summer. Chartering her for around ten weeks a season can cover a large share of it.

Frequently asked questions
Before you buy
Do I need a broker to buy a yacht?
It isn't compulsory, but a broker checks what the listing doesn't say: the history, the true condition, the tax position, and the boats that are never advertised.
Who pays the broker's commission?
By industry custom, the sales commission is paid by the seller. For the buyer, our guidance adds nothing to the price.
What costs come on top of the purchase price?
The independent survey, registration and flag, any duties or VAT depending on the boat's status, and recommissioning. We cost them all before the offer.
How much does a yacht cost to run each year?
Around 10 % of her value, depending on size, age and use: crew, maintenance, insurance, berth and fuel. The calculator above gives you the order of magnitude.
Can I charter out my yacht to reduce costs?
Yes. Around ten charter weeks a season often cover a large share of the running costs. We handle the charter management and the bookings.
How long does it take to buy?
Usually one to three months from the first viewing to the handover: time for the survey, the sea trial and the formalities.
Can I buy from abroad?
Yes. We arrange video viewings, the survey and the paperwork, and welcome you for the sea trial. We work in French, English, German and Italian.
